Bronze cultures flourished from 4,000 to 600 BCE in the Xinjiang region. Since many inhabitants were ethnically associated with Europeans, their material production was different from that in central China. This talk will introduce the characteristics of bronze objects discovered in Xinjiang, with special attention to their cultural ties with central Asia, southern Siberia, and northwest China.
