3rd Yale Symposium on Chinese Overseas Investment Impacts: Greening the Belt and Road

If you’re interested in learning more about China, the Belt and Road Initiative, and environmental issues around the world, please join us at the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies for the 3rd Yale Symposium on Chinese Overseas Investment Impacts: Greening the Belt and Road.

This Symposium will explore the ways in which China’s impact on the environment and people around the world is evolving, as Chinese companies and investors continue to shape global supply chains and local economies. At this Symposium, diverse perspectives from NGOs, think tanks and academia will provide nuanced analyses of about Chinese overseas investments.

Topics include: what the Belt and Road Initiative actually is; China’s changing environmental governance and policies; climate considerations in infrastructure development; and the implications of the Belt and Road for biodiversity and ecosystems, among others. The Symposium will also include breakout panels addressing Chinese investments in Asia, Africa and Latin America. 

Registration is free, and food will be provided for lunch and coffee breaks.
