Kun-Shan Carolyn Lee is a Professor of the Practice and the director of the Chinese Language Program at Duke University. Additionally, she has served as faculty director of Duke Study in China since 2002. She received an MA in Art History and an MA in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language from the University of Iowa. Before joining Duke, she taught in the Chinese department at Middlebury College and at the Chinese summer intensive language program in Middlebury Language Schools. She has taught all levels of CFL courses and been continuously working on the curriculum development and articulation for the Duke Chinese program. She is a co-editor of Chinese as a Foreign/Second Language in the Study Abroad Context (Peking University Press, 2008; reprinted in 2010). She is a co-author of the textbooks: Crossing Cultural Boundaries: An Advanced Chinese Multimedia Course (Routledge, Taylor & Francis Group, 2010/2014) and Acting Chinese: An Intermediate-Advanced Course in Discourse and Behavioral Culture (Routledge, Taylor & Francis Group, 2021). Her current research interests include CSL/CFL Curriculum Articulation, Intercultural Communicative Competency, Service-Learning and Community-based Language Learning, and Content-Based Instruction.

Jing Wang received her Ph.D in Classical Chinese Literature from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She taught at Carnegie Mellon University and University of North Carolina-Charlotte and is now Senior Lecturer and Associate Director of the Chinese Language Program in the department of East Asian Studies at Princeton University. She is also a CLTA board member. Her research is focused on translation and studies of Tang Song tales, teaching materials and pedagogy of advanced Chinese. She has published several articles on peer-reviewed journals in China and the U.S. Her books include Frist Step: An Elementary Reader for Modern Chinese (Princeton University Press, 2012), Song Dynasty Tales: A Guided Reader (World Scientific: Lens on China: Intermediate and Advanced Readings on Film for Learning Chinese (Hong Kong University Press, 2020, co-authored)

Lulei Su, Lecturer in Chinese, Brown University. Before he joined the Department of East Asian Studies at Brown University, he taught at College of the Holy Cross, The Ohio State University, and Harvard University previously. His research interest lies in Second Language acquisition, Chinese linguistics, and discourse analysis. He also enjoys exploring various topics on curriculum design and hopes to find ways to optimize the sequence of language learning. He serves as one of the leaders in the CLTA-SIG for teacher development and helps the CLTA Headquarters host the CLTA Virtual Forum series.
