A celebration of Valerie Hansen's "The Year 1000"

Tuesday, April 14, 2020 - 5:15pm to 6:15pm
via Zoom See map

You are cordially invited to an e-book launch via Zoom at 5:15 pm EDT on April 14 for Professor Valerie Hansen’s The Year 1000: When Explorers Connected the World— and Globalization Began, which Scribner will release on that day. Professor Fabian Drixler will start off by asking Professor Hansen questions and then Q+A will be opened to everyone.

Globalization began over one thousand years ago when a system of pathways first connected the different regions of the world in AD 1000. For the first time in history an object or message could travel all the way around the world. No one has found such an item—yet!— but archaeology could still surprise us.
