Concert of Taiwan Music

Concert coordinated by: Michael Friedmann (Yale University), Hwang-long Pan (Taipei National University of the Arts), Chung-kun Hung (Taipei National University of the Arts)

Thursday, April 26, 2007 - 7:30pm to 9:00pm
Common Room, Branford College See map
74 High Street
New Haven, CT 6511

This concert presents works by Hwang-Long Pan (1945- ) and Chung-Kun Hung (1963- ), who represent two different generations of Taiwanese composers. The composers are also differentiated by virtue of their training: Pan was trained in Europe, Hung in the United States. The concert will present five of their compositions, which are deliberately chosen to show as wide as possible a spectrum of musical style among contemporary Taiwanese composers. The composers, who both teach at the Taipei National University of the Arts, will be in attendance, and Professor Hung will make special comments on the program.

This concert is part the International Conference: Taiwan and Its Contexts.
