Examining the affective factors in effective Chinese teaching and learning
This workshop will continue examining the affective factors that promote effective Chinese language teaching and learning based on Krashen’s affective filter hypothesis. It will discuss about including affective factors in course design, teaching strategies, and classroom management. Participants will be engaged in developing strategies for their own classroom teaching.
Dr. Henry Ruan is a board member of CLTA-GNY and a teacher at Loomis Chaffee School, former adjunct professor at Teachers College and Hofstra University. He also served as a member in AP Chinese Development Committee of College Board from 2008 to 2012.
