Professor Li Xiaocong, a specialist in historical geography who is visiting Yale this summer from Peking University, will give a presentation (in Chinese) entitled, “Using Historical Maps to Do Research,” in the map room on the 7th floor of Sterling Memorial Library. Below, please find Professor Li’s article about the mapping project during the reign of the Kangxi emperor. This presentation will largely overlap with the workshop that Professor Li gave at the end of last summer, and he welcomes any repeat visitors!
