Hwansoo Kim (Associate Professor of Religious Studies) has been recognized by the Association for Asian Studies with “Honorable Mention” for the James B. Palais Prize for his book The Korean Buddhist Empire: A Transnational History, 1910–1945.
The Palais Prize is given annually to an outstanding scholar of Korean studies from any discipline or country specialization to recognize distinguished scholarly work on Korea.
