Richard Sosa is the Program Director of the Council on East Asian Studies at Yale University (CEAS). He is responsible for the overall management and implementation of administrative, academic, development, and outreach programming of CEAS. Prior to his position as CEAS Program Director, Richard served as Program Manager for the international team at the Yale Office of Development.
Richard first came to Yale in 2007 as a graduate student in the Program in the History of Science and Medicine in the Department of History, where he studied the history of medicine in China. As a graduate student, Richard also served as Program Coordinator for the Mellon Mays and Bouchet Undergraduate Fellowship Programs in the Yale College Dean’s Office.
Richard completed his undergraduate degree in 2006 at Williams College with a double major in Chinese and history (highest honors). After graduating, he received a Mandarin Enrichment Scholarship and completed an additional year of Chinese language study at National Taiwan Normal University. At Yale, Richard is a member of the Steering Committee for the Future Leaders of Yale affinity group and a Fellow of Pauli Murray College.
